RANK UPPrivacy Policy
Rank Up ("Rank Up", "we", "us") is a fitness game: you log real workouts, runs, walks and steps, and your character earns EXP, levels, classes, gold and rewards. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Rank Up is operated by Omar Mohammed Mohammed Galal, Cairo, Egypt. If you have any question about this policy, write to support@rankupfit.app.
The short version
- We collect what the game needs: your account, your profile, the workouts and movement you log, and the rewards you earn.
- Health and fitness data from Health Connect is only read after you allow it, and only to award EXP and to create the posts you choose to share. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never send it to AI services.
- Your AI training and nutrition plan is written from your training details (goal, body measurements, experience, equipment, schedule). Your name and email are never sent.
- Other players see only what you choose to share: your public profile and the workouts and stories whose visibility allows it.
- You can delete your account from inside the app, and that deletes your data.
- We do not sell your personal data and we do not run ads.
1. Information you give us
Account. Your email address and a password, or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture your Google account shares with us. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form and are never visible to us.
Profile. Your username, display name, avatar picture, and anything else you choose to add to your profile.
Training details. Your goal, experience level, weekly schedule, workout length, available equipment, preferred training styles, injuries you tell us about, and body details such as age, sex, height, weight and target weight. These shape your plan, your daily targets and the EXP you earn. You can change them in Settings → Training preferences.
Workouts and activity you log. Exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, durations, notes, the photos and videos you attach, and the visibility you choose for each workout.
Social content. Posts, stories, likes, comments, follows, and reports or blocks you make.
Support messages. When you report a bug or suggest a feature, we receive your message, the area of the app you picked, and technical details about your device (model, operating system version, app version), so we can reproduce the problem.
2. Camera, microphone and photos
Rank Up uses your camera and microphone only when you choose to take a photo or record a video for a workout, a post or a story, and your photo library only when you pick pictures from it. Nothing is recorded in the background. Photos and videos you post are stored with your post and shown to the people its visibility allows.
3. Health and fitness data
If you connect Health Connect (Android) or, in a future release, Apple Health (iPhone), Rank Up reads:
- Recorded runs and walks: start and end time, distance, duration, calories and the app that recorded them.
- Daily step counts.
We read this data only after you grant permission in your phone's own health permission screen, and only to:
- award EXP to your Pacer and Roamer classes, and
- create a workout post for a recorded run or walk, using the visibility setting you chose.
We store the activities and daily step totals that earned EXP, so the same run is never paid twice and so your history is shown to you.
We do not use health or fitness data for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, we do not share it with other companies, we do not send it to AI services, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models. We only keep what the game needs.
You can disconnect at any time in Settings → Health Connect → Disconnect, or in your phone's Health Connect settings. Disconnecting stops any further reading. EXP you already earned stays on your character.
Rank Up's use of information received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. AI training and nutrition plans
When you ask for a plan, our server sends your training details (goal, age, sex, height, weight, target weight, experience, activity level, injuries, equipment, preferred training styles, schedule and daily nutrition targets) to an AI service, which writes the plan. We use Google Gemini first and Anthropic Claude when Gemini is unavailable.
- Your name, email, photos, posts and Health Connect data are never sent.
- The request goes from our server, not from your phone, and is made under the providers' paid business terms, which do not allow them to use it to train their models.
- The finished plan is stored on your account. You can replace it at any time, and it is deleted with your account.
AI-written plans can contain mistakes: see the Terms & Conditions.
5. Information created as you play
- Your character: level, EXP, gold, classes and tiers, streaks, quests, challenges and rewards.
- Your progress history: finished workouts, imported runs and walks, daily step totals.
- Premium status: when it started and ends, and how it was obtained (a store subscription, a promo code or a gift).
- Promo codes you redeemed, and Marketplace offers you bought with gold, including the discount code you received.
- Notification settings and reminder times you choose.
- A device token used to deliver push notifications.
- Basic technical information needed to run the service, such as the app version and the type of device, and error information when something crashes.
6. Why we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and secure your account and sign you in;
- run the game: log workouts, count EXP, level your character, keep streaks, show quests, challenges and rewards;
- write and adjust your AI training and nutrition plan;
- give you Premium and the rewards of codes and offers;
- show you your history and statistics;
- show your posts, stories and profile to the people you chose to share them with;
- send the notifications and reminders you turned on;
- answer your support messages and fix bugs;
- keep Rank Up safe: prevent cheating, abuse and fake activity; and
- comply with the law.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), we rely on: performing our contract with you (running the app), your consent (health data, notifications, optional features), our legitimate interests (keeping the service safe and working), and legal obligations.
7. Who can see your information
Other players. Your username, display name, avatar, level, classes and achievements are visible to other players. Each workout post and story carries the visibility you choose: for example public, followers only, or private. A private account limits who can follow you and see your posts. Comments and likes you leave are visible to people who can see that post.
Shared links. When you share a post, a profile or an offer, the link opens a preview page on rankupfit.app. Anyone with the link can see that preview, but only for content a stranger may already see: public posts of public accounts, and the public part of a profile. Private content never appears there.
Partner brands. Marketplace offers come from partner brands. We do not send them your personal data. When you use a discount code at a brand, that brand's own privacy policy applies to what you give it.
Service providers. We use a small number of companies to run Rank Up, and they may process your data on our behalf:
- Supabase: database, authentication and file storage (your account, profile, workouts, posts and images).
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivery of push notifications.
- Google Firebase Performance Monitoring: how fast the app starts, draws screens and loads data, with the device type and app version, so we can find slow spots. It does not include your content.
- Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Google (Gemini API) and Anthropic (Claude API): writing AI plans, as described in section 4.
- Cloudflare: hosting the rankupfit.app website and its share previews.
- Google Play and, in future, the App Store: processing purchases, when paid features are offered. We never see your card details.
These providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Legal. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of players, the public or us.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertising networks.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, workouts, posts, stories, comments, plans, health activity records and support tickets, except where we must keep something to comply with the law or to resolve a dispute. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis, so copies may persist for a short period after deletion.
9. Your choices and rights
- See and change your data: most of it is in the app, in your profile and in Settings.
- Delete your account and data: Settings → Account & security → Delete account.
- Turn notifications on or off: Settings → Notifications, or in your phone's settings.
- Disconnect health data: Settings → Health Connect → Disconnect.
- Private account: Settings → Account & security → Private account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. Write to support@rankupfit.app and we will respond within the time the law allows.
10. Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and database rules that keep each player's data reachable only by that player and by the people they shared it with. Server-side functions handle anything that affects the economy, so EXP, gold, levels and Premium cannot be changed from a phone. No service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your data safe and to tell you promptly if something goes wrong.
11. Children
Rank Up is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that age. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to support@rankupfit.app and we will remove it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use Rank Up after a change means you accept the updated policy.
